The railway road system has been playing a very important part in the development of many countries' economy for many years. Wheelsets, which is essential and important part of the train, plays a dominate role in the safety of railway system. Traditional wheelsets-testing method which is realized by man has bad efficiency and precision, and the automatic non-touched method is not available at large in our country.In the themes, parameters of wheelsets were introduced. Also, various testing techniques were studied deeply. On the basis of contrary and analysis of these testing techniques, a new detecting method is brought forward. The method makes the center of bearing which are set to the ends of axis of wheelsets measurement benchmark. During the rotation of wheelsets, the characteristic points is being found with the scan process for the wheelsets' figuration which is realized by laser sensors. At last, the parameters of wheelsets can be obtained after the data-processing. Hardware and software designs were detailed: installing environment, images processing and so on.When a train passes by a position sensor, the wheelsets are stopped by the positioning equipments which are installed by the railway. To realize the exacted orientation for the center of wheelsets, a set of pneumatic equipment is being used to make the bearing tightly attached to the V shaped iron. Secondly, the driving system starts up to make the wheelsets rotate. After that measurement system begins to work, the six sets of sensor find the corresponding points of wheelsets and measure them while left-and-right and up-and-down movement. Finally the computer display the corresponding parameters after data processing."Dynamic wheelsets detecting equipment" developed by Zhong-ji science and technology Ltd. of JiangXi province and us. The accuracy is better than±0.1mm., it pass the railway department's appraisal and has been suggested to a wider use in the national railway system. It absolutely make a solid base for the development of better wheelset measurement.
