| The entrance landscape of a residential area, as an important part of the whole sceneries of the residential area, is a tie of the view of the residential area and its surroundings since it's the only way for its residents to pass by. As a tie of the residential area and its surrounding streets, it can not only improve the environment quality of the whole residential area, but also beautify the surrounding streets and raise its attraction so as to provide vigor and prosperity for the city.Surrounding since it's the only way for its residents to pass by. As a tie of the first, the paper will discuss the concerned concepts and historical origin of the entrance landscape of a residential area, including a definition to the evolvement history and extension of the entrance landscape, a definition to concept of entrance landscape, and a sound and overall analysis to the functions, components and types of the entrance landscape. Second, it will explain the designing principles, such as entirety principle, humanism principle and sustaining development principle, of the entrance landscape of a residential area. Finally, the paper will analyze and probe into designing methods of the entrance landscape of a residential area. Since it's the most vital part of this paper, we will explore here the designing methods in details from three aspects-the first step is making a conception in mind of the whole landscape including its functions, image, space and artistic implication; the second step is choosing the location of the entrance in accordance with whole designing program of the residential area and the city and its surrounding environment; and the final step is making an arrangement to the plane distribution, function organization, space shaping and elevation modeling by samples. |
