The development of industry depends heavily on bulk solid handling. Higher efficiency, higher storage capacity of handling and transportation system is needed with the bulk solid increasing in transport tonnage nowadays. With its unique advantages screw conveyor is widely used in the field of bulk materials handling, especially in bulk material handling port.The kind of screw conveyor that used in feed and agitation system cannot suit to large bulk solid handling, because its calculation method, such as single particle method and material group method, roots in the classic screw conveying theory is not perfect. High efficiency screw conveyor uses double screw flight, but there is no introduction in mostly documentation. And it can cause design errors when we design screw conveyor use traditional method. So the classic screw conveying theory do not suit to the design of high efficiency bulk solid handling system.The paper leads in continuum assumption of bulk solid mechanics and classical Couette flow of aerodynamics by the development of bulk solid and fluid mechanics. The acting force among bulk solid serves as viscous force in screw conveyor, so the bulk solid can serve as fluid according to the fluid mechanics. Simulate airflow and bulk solid the regularities of distribution with FLUENT software. The filled efficiency of screw conveyor with double screw flight can reach 100 percent; so we can use the seal theory of fuller pump because of variable-pitch screw create the seal condition. The result that simulates with the FLUENT software shows that the bulk solid seal does not cause the blockage but formats suction vortex, and this is in favor of conveying.The calculation method of kineto-density suits to the research of conveying theory.The study about the vortex because of high speed rotation of helicoids in enclosed system breaks through the mechanics conception of traditional screw conveying theory, accelerate the development of traditional screw conveying theory, and exploit the new sections and chapters.
