Distribution system is connected with customers directly. Study of distribution system reliability can make a great significance on customers and electrical corporations. The purpose of the paper is that analysize Tengzhou Urban Distribution Networks (TUDNs) reliability by applying reliability theory, and calculate TUDNs reliability indices by FMEA. Through analyzing reliability, we can find out the influential factors and feasible improvemet measures. The main contents are as follows.1,The thesis makes systematic and thorough introduction on the the basic concept of the distribution system reliability, building of the element reliabilitymodel and system reliability model, and related calculation formulas. Then theelements, load points and system reliability indices are included. Reliabilityevaluation algorithm------Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is providedwith its calculation methods, principles, formulas and so on.2,Taking example for a practical TUDNs, the paper sets up two kinds of reliability models which concern with the breakers, switches and fusions' failure or not. From the calculation of these models, evaluating and analysizing typical connection styles of the distribution system, system reliability indices can be drawn.According to the analysis, it is shown that the network configuration and the devices' reliability level have the great important influence on distribution system reliability. Distribution system reliability indices are related with failure elements, switches etc.3,Through evaluating TUDNs reliability, the relationship between the network configuration and reliability of the distribution networks is acquired. Contrasting on reliability indices of six substations in Tengzhou Urban, the relationship among network structure, switch configuration and reliability indices is worked out. Camparing with the feeder reliability indices in Tengxi Substation, feeder reliability is conneted with its structure closely. The analysis provides the useful information for distribution system planning, maintenance and reconstruction. 4,Emphasizing on failure interruption analysis of Tengzhou historical interruption, the paper puts forwards effective measures to improve reliability. Through analyzing the factors which affect the system reliability, some approaches are presented to improve the distribution system reliability, which are classified into technology measures and management measures.
