Along with the transportation development, the turbocharger is widely used in vehicles and is an important component of the engine system. According to the results of research by domestic and foreign scholars, comparing with the national standards, the result of vehicle speed up noise test for vehicles with booster engines (especially heavy truck) often exceeds a few decibels. In order to reduce the noise of vehicles with booster engine, reduce environmental pollution and improve passenger comfort, it is very necessary and of great importance to research on the turbocharger noise control mechanism and method。In this paper, the objective of investigation is a turbocharger made by HunanTYEN Machinery Co, Ltd. First,based on the theories and methods of sound intensity measurement, the dissertation works out a testing scheme of surface radiation noise of the turbocharger, and the sound intensity measurement is carried out on the surface radiation noise of turbocharger. Based on the Analysis of the experiment results, sound intensity contour map is used to get the noise distribution of the turbocharger, and the major noise sources are identified.Then the numerical method including the discrimination of the governing equations and turbulence models are described. Numerical equation and governing equation are given; the grid generation of compressor is done; the boundary condition and initial condition are given; and the computation of numerical simulation at different working conditions is analyzed. Results of velocity and pressure distribution of the inner flow field have been gotton.After flow analysis of the turbocharger compressor system, Broadband Noise Sources Model is used to analyze the aerodynamic noise. Aerodynamic noise of compressor systems is studied under two different operational rotating speeds: 130,000 and 110,000 rpm. Through the revision of the width in Vaneless,impact of turbocharger aerodynamic noise made by the different width ratio in Vaneless is studied.
