The main direction of internal combustion engine's technology is saving the energy sources and controlling the exhaust. Fuel efficiency and power output and emission of an internal combustion engine can be significantly improved by optimizing intake and exhaust valve's timing and duration and lift as speed changes during operation.Conventionally, the valve's timing and lift have been scheduled before production, optimized for the standard condition and circumstances. Most of the devices used in engines to open and close the intake and exhaust valve do not permit variation of valve timing and duration during engine operation. But the engine usually operates in a non-standard condition and can't be optimized in standard condition. Consequently, to optimize the engine performance in any condition and any circumstances, a need exists for a device that permits variable valve timing, variable lift and variable valve duration during engine operation. So a Hydraulically Actuating, Electronically Controlled Variable Valve System for diesel engine and the experiment for its performance have been developed.Firstly, using the software to simulate the engine's intake and exhaust system and analyses the parameters which affect the engine's economy and dynamics to obtain the right lift curve of the intake and exhaust valve. Then, develop the camless electrohydraulic valve's executive machine independently to achieve the curve. This system introduces a new kind of high-speed switch valve to control the fuel cylinder, and the cylinder is used to push the mandrill of valve. The high-speed switch valve has large flux with small spool displacement. The valve contains an electromagnetic coil in each cap, which improves the response speed mostly. Combing the fuel cylinder which is designed by us, we can control the valve's timing and duration and lift flexibly. At last, we carry through the experimental study to validate this executive machine designed by us.It is hoped that this machine can replace the conventional valve system to control the lift of valve flexible on 1015 diesel engine. Actually, the executive machine designed by us can achieve the requirement to control the valve's timing and duration and lift flexibly.
