The high-pressure common rail fuel injection system is a high flexible fuel system, which can realize more than once injections including pilot injection, main injection and post injection. It leads to a soft combustion, thereby effectively reducing the combustion noise and emission. The high-pressure common rail system is supposed to be the developing tendency of the diesel engine fuel injection technology in the field of internal-combustion engine all over the world.Firstly, based on studying a great lot literature of the common rail fuel system home and aboard, the paper introduced EFI technology development of the diesel engine, focusing on the domestic and international development, application and dynamic of the high-pressure common rail system. And then, aimed at ECU specific project for the common rail control system, statements on the components of the high-pressure common rail system including importation, electronic control unit (ECU) and output were made, and details for each control module of ECU software design were shown. Finally, the common rail fuel injection system control strategy was designed, and software design of the fuel injection system was carried on.By researching on the injection mechanism, "main injection + pilot injection" mode was adapted. A series of problem, which involving injection co-ordination, injection quantity and quantity distribution, start of energizing, energizing time of injector and injection release, were solved. Using ASCET software development platform of ETAS, software design and automatic code generation were completed.
