TCAS is a kind of air-carried system which is used to alert and avoid collision in air traffic, and it works independently from the Air Traffic Control system. TCAS is the last safeguard in air traffic for pilot. Now although it can not replaced by other avionics facility, but if TCAS is not used properly by pilot, the aftereffect is serious for air-safety. And at present the standard and criterion of how to make use of TCAS is not intact, so to know the principle of the TCAS is the foundation of air traffic safety for the pilot.Meanwhile, as the last guarantee of the air traffic safety, it is very important for TCAS to identify the near threaten object. It is including the azimuth, distance, and altitude of the threaten object. The identification of the azimuth is based on the structure of the radar receiver. The identification information of the distance and altitude of the threaten object is included in the reply signals of the transponders. So it is necessary to decode the reply which is coded by the transponder air carried in the aircraft.Aimed at the above important items, the paper will do some lucubrate and study about the TCAS system inspect of the application and object identified. The detail content as follows:1. Introduce the working and theory of TCAS system inspect of the user application, and also carry through lucubrate and analysis.2. Based on the introducing the directional-theory of the mono-pulse radar receiver, the paper advanced a structure-improved receiver and do amount of simulation, gain a better result.3. Through lucubrate and analysis, considered a way to design the decoder of the TCAS, and finally implement a base band decoding system of TCAS.
