TCAS is the abbreviation of Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance. It is the newest machine-loaded electronic equipment which could run independently without the assistance of ground-based Air-Traffic Control(ATC). Based on the principle of Secondary Surveillance Radar which belongs to ground-based ATC, TCAS puts the query equipment on the airplanes and so that the airplanes could query each other and result in the distance interval between each other. By this mechanism, the pilot could take the way to avoid collision in time when he meets the potential conflict.This thesis is based on the topic of the second generation of TCAS, with the research and development of a software system which is based on VxWorks and PowerPC.The main domains of this thesis include:1.By doing the research of DO-185A protocol, we analyze the constitution principle and key technology of TCASII, and mainly talk about the general design of TCASII.2. Make analysis of main module functions and interface data connection and transmit of TCASII, classify the information of interface accesses between each function module, and stress on the function delimitation of surveillance and collision-avoidance system module..3. Introduce the real-time operating system of VxWorks, and make a further improvement of interface functions through the BSP development which relies on VxWorks.4. Make a detailed introduction to the functions and the context of ARINC735A protocol module in TCAS, on this infrastructure, we make a intensive description of each component function of ARINC735A protocol module, and also we give out the state-transferring illustrates, along with the discussion of multi-assignment implementation of ARINC735A on the platform of embedded environment.5. At last, we construct a simulation and verification platform to testify the system function and interface access module.Nowadays, research of TCAS in China is rare, lacking the materials of reference theories. This project is under the condition of VxWorks embedded OS. The development and realization of TCASII have been successfully applied in TCAS experiment system of one military enterprise, and obtain an excellent value in engineering application.
