The artillery of all combustible cartridge has numerous advantages such as reducing the ammunition expenses, easing the artillery weight and raising the artillery firing rate, so many countries carry out the research. Due to all combustible cartridge artillery's cartridge is burnt down in the launch process, it is unable to complete the crucial function that metal cartridge seal powder gases. So it can not guarantee the projectile has enough kinetic energy to push down the tube. One of the difficulties in developing all combustible cartridge artillery is to seal the powder gases completely in the process of artillery launch.The seal technique has been studied in this article. Considering the seals characteristic of all combustible cartridge artillery in the combustion chamber, a combined seal structure has been designed. Using the ABAQUS software, the distortion of the gun breech has been calculated under the effect of gas pressure. The calculation results will provide the parameter for the following examination of the seals structure reliability. A contact mechanics computation model of seal structure which contains the rubber material has been established. The seals structure contact stress has been computed using the non-linear contact finite element method. The seal structure is improved based on the computed result. Finally, the contact stress of the improved structure is calculated using ABAQUS software under the static and dynamic load of high pressure gases.The results indicate that the improved structure is able to satisfy the seal requirement of the heat and high pressure gases in the combustion chamber. However, the final engineering structure still needs to be confirmed and adjusted. The design method of seal structure has an important referenced meaning for the other seal structure.
