Barrel Life Universal Testing Device Analysis

The firearms' life is always an important research topic of researchers from many countries. The barrel, which takes one of firearms' important parts, is one of the shortest life components. Therefore, the research of barrel life is especially important.Some related problems of the barrel life general test equipment which is going to be developed have been forecasted in this paper. Firstly, the scheme of barrel life general test equipment has been drawn up initially by introducing the composition of the test equipment and the leading roles of each part and movement process of the test equipment. The experiment steps of this barrel life general test equipment were also summarized. Then, the simulating rifle bolt module and the cartridge drum driving synchronously mechanism of the test equipment including their function and design requirements were introduced. The characteristic of motion to these two parts was also analyzed. Finally, the stability analysis of this test equipment has been done. Some key factors from this analysis have been obtained, which provided technical support for optimizes by using Matlab. Through this optimization, these important factors (force of inertia) causing movement unstable have been kept in a stable scope.Through a series of analytical study, the quite systematic description of the test equipment's structure was gotten. Each part of the test equipment has also elaborated, which provided some technical support for the next step development.
