Natural gas is an internationally recognized green energy, it is clean and efficient. With the wide application of natural gas, Compress Natural Gas (CNG) technology is becoming more mature, The CNG storage gas pressure vessel is a special high-pressure vessel which is used to store up and transport the Compress Natural Gas. At present, compressed natural gas has become the gas source of vigorous development. However, in recent years, for CNG storage gas pressure vessel has various shortcomings in the manufacture, use, maintenance and other aspects, a lot of accident occurred. So we should carry out analysis and study to avoid accidents.First, this paper analyzed the reason causing the CNG storage gas pressure vessel explosion by the Fault Tree Analysis Method, and pre-analyzed the reason of accident which has not yet occurred. What's more, it gave the Countermeasures for preventing the CNG storage gas pressure vessel explosion. Secondly, this paper calculated the CNG storage gas pressure vessel reliability using theoretical calculation.Again, This paper carried on the stress analysis based on ANSYS software to the CNG storage gas pressure vessel,produced the stress distributed cloud chart,and got the node number where was the maximum stress. This article carried on the fatigue analysis based on stress analysis result,the fatigue analysis demonstrated the CNG pressure vessel was effective in the establishment service life,Its fatigue accumulation damage coefficient was smaller than 1,Which explained it could satisfy the fatigue strength request. Finally, this article introduced the application of ANSYS finite element method in the reliability analysis,and gave the common method and the analysis step of ANSYS. this article analyzed the reliability of the CNG pressure vessel,showed the reliability degree of the CNG pressure vessel based on ANSYS analysis result.
