"The application and industrialization of magnesium alloy" is a pivot item of The 11th 5-years Plan. Relies on scientific research item, this dissertation based on CAD/CAE/CAM technology, from aspects such as cutting tool selection, workpiece clamping, cutter path strategy, using the method combined with theory analysis, numeric simulation, experiment validate, studies deformation control and machining security of low-rigidity structure ZM5 workpiece. The machining technology and its security problem is a important content for research magnesium alloy, and is a basic of magnesium alloy application.Above all, the thesis get going from oxidation thermodynamics of magnesium alloy based on its chemic and physical characteristic, research burning theory of magnesium alloy. Analysed tempertuare distribution of magnesium alloy cutting by DEFORM software. Then select cutting parameter that can ensure security for ZM5 experimentation.Secondly, after taking into account of cutting tools' capability, parameter and market, the thesis selects the milling cutter. Then introduce into representative accessory of ZM5 material,analysed its structure trait and machining request. Then makes certain fixture layout and clamping scheme of the workpiece,then ananlyed the tool path of fixed axis bend surfaced maching. High speed milling of low-rigidity structure workpiece is performed on machining center finally, measures milling force and surface roughness, analyses phenomena and machining effect of workpiece is observed. The experimental result is accorded with anticipative target, the surface of cavity is satisfied with machining request.The result of study has definite guidance meaning in ensuring milling quality of low-rigidity structure magnesium alloy workpieces and enhancing machining technology level of milling low-rigidity workpieces. Meanwhile, it offers some referenced value to the solve of security problem about magnesium alloy.
