This thesis,preservation research of west Front Area of Tang Daming palace the great relic national park,is one of the sub-course of Tang Daming palace national relic park and Tang Daming Palace national great relic demonstration area.And,it is also a sub-course of the construction of historical city of Xian.By historical and archaeology research on the area,scholars found that the area was once used as amenity area for royal etiquettes,and was abandond ever since Tang gave up.During more than 1000 years after Tang,this area remains as rural area and not engaged into any large construction.After 1900,with the dilation of Xian city,the area was quickly refilled with different kinds of constructions,which deady influenced the archaeology researchs on the ground futher.Therefore,how to figure out the relationships between the upgound modern constructions and underground relic are become the key question to heriatge protection and relic park construction on the area. Besides,local govemment initialized national relic park construction project at 2008 and schemed an open at 2010,which given more urgency to the studies.Based on Nairobi Recommendation(1976,UNESCO) and other international statements,consideration is taken not only to the integrity,diversity,and continuity of heritage and also the self-value and social value of heritage,which means,all historical information,such are context and transformation on the ground etc.,should all be considered as parts of complex values of heritage.Accordingly,the modern heritage and the other historical changes of the society in the area should be considered as one of value in the Daming heritage,and must be protected as well as the relic in the area.Therefore,investigation and research have been made to take a close look at the relics on the front area of Tang Daming Palace,which including the modern heritage and the other historical change on the ground.By the helps the information provided by CASS,studies figured out the historical information in the area,such us possible relic distribution and historical changing information on the ground etc.,and,by create and distribute of four digital models,which are Area Value Evaluation Model(Gr), Historical Building Selection Model(BuV),Historical Building Reform Model(BuR), and Shacks Area Evaluation Model(Ph),studies find out the possible strategy and principles on perservation of the area.Given that the preservation of magnificent relics in China is in its infancy in consideration,the research of the thesis will also given a good example to any project alike.
