Guangzhou is one of the first batch historical and cultural famous city designated by the nation, with numerous cultural protection units and historical relics which recorded the long history of the city. Among these cultural protection units, such a lot have been reserved in public gardens and scenic spots, some are landscape garden of their own, some are surrounded by greenery plaza. Kinds of cultural protection manner have been closely related to garden greenery. Pattern of cultural protection integrated with garden greenery in Guangzhou is the study object of this article----Guangzhou relic gardens.Cultural relics are supporting material of city historical culture. Relic gardens are environmental garments which can effectively segregate and protect cultural relics, and are good patterns which can rationally reserve and present city historical relics. Public usage of cultural relics and relic gardens brings relics value into full play.This article uses case method, through survey research of historical data and case, to have in hand the existing state and usage of Guangzhou relic gardens. On this basis, illustrating the style and feature of Guangzhou relic gardens by finding merits and demerits, this article explores the effective construction pattern of relic gardens to embody Guangzhou's culture and history characteristics.
