The electronic endoscope is widely used in medical inspections, industrial productions,military detectives and other areas for the unique structures and imaging capabilities. Applying high speed digital video image processing technology to the electronic endoscope is the main issue for the research in this area. In resent years, because of the continuing development of SOPC(System On a Programmable Chip) technology, new proposals have been presented for the design of the electronic endoscope, which has the functions for processing the digital image. Based on the SOPC technology, we carry out a research into the system of digital video image acquisition and processing for electronic endoscope.The development and application status of electronic endoscope and also its image processing technology. are researched in this dissertation. According to the technology requirements to the system, the general scheme is designed and researched, the characters of different plans to FPGA&DSP,ARM,SOC and SOPC compared, finally the plan which is based on the video image acquisition and processing of SOPC is chosen. Core chips for the system are selected. The design for the principles of system electric power,data storage,video A/D transformation, and four layers PCB are finished. The design for the software of system image acquisition and processing, of which the core is SOPC, is completed and emulated. Using the SOPC builder, the system is built and accomplished, which includes the controlling modules for image acquisition,image display and image algorithms (video overlay algorithms and median filtering algorithm).Based on the experiments of SOPC hardware, we do the debugging and verifying for above mentioned software, and give the final rendering.
