The outside domain of the collegiate architectures is the main location for students' extracurricular activities, which is considered as the facility helping students ameliorate their comprehensive capabilities. Its function, configuration and circumstances exert a subtle influence on their manners, emotions and temperaments. It also plays an important part in shaping the value system and attitudes toward the life of collegiate students. Thus it is a significant task to design a highly qualified outside configuration of the campus architecture and thus to build a favorable studying and living environment. This paper, from the ethic angle, further studies the design of the external configuration of the collegiate architecture. First, the author gives a retrospection and summarizes the survey on the development of the external configuration and the embodied ethic significance. Then, further analyzing the features and the contemporary circumstances, taking the ethical angle, the author discusses the ethic appeal of the current configuration design. By using inductive, deductive and summarizing methodologies, the author attempts to put forward a new method of designing the external configuration based on the ethic. The whole paper compromises four main notions: spatial layers regressing to the living world, spatial processing inheriting the historical culture, spatial design displaying individuality, and spatial scenery prone to ecological ethic.
