The circuit protection system of electric locomotive is a critical device to monitor locomotive running status and protect locomotive circuits. The working status of overload protection device is an important factor to protect the safety use of protection system. But the existing testing equipment could not meet the requirements, and it is an urgent need to develop new testing system of locomotive protection device. This dissertation analyzes the characteristics of locomotive protection device, and proposes an entire scheme of off-line testing, through simulating the working conditions of device to achieve the testing of protection device.Testing of protection devices, the key is to simulate conditions of the protection device, because there are kinds of protection devices, a wide range of high-current waveform is needed. The control of current, it should be fast and requires a smaller ripple and fluctuation, and at the same time it needs to have coordinated control for the input voltage of rectifier and control angle. As the testing objects are varied, divergent electrical characteristics, and time-varying, conventional control methods are hard to achieve, this dissertation presents a control strategy based on fuzzy supervisory coordination control. The upper fuzzy supervisor monitors the control effects, and adjusts the control objectives and parameters in real-time. The underlying designs three local controllers, which control voltage regulator and trigger pulse respectively. In the process of testing, the fuzzy supervisor sets the objective gear for voltage regulator, selects the corresponding phase controller, and adjusts the phase controller online in accordance with controlling situation.Adaptive PID phase controller is designed in the mode of curve or constant-current. In the di/dt mode, as the requirements of real-time and accuracy is much higher, a certain degree of learning ability is required, PID can not meet the control requirements; as the neural network controller has high adaptive ability, through online learning of the parameters, fast and accurate control can be achieved.The hardware design uses a modular design concept. According to different functions of the system, hardware platform design is divided into a number of modules, including the main circuit, pulse trigger circuit, control circuit, signal acquisition and human-computer interaction. Software design uses OPC technology, combines the advantages of convenience of configuration software control and the strong computing power of Matlab, the functions of automatic testing, manual testing, data query, data statistics, parameter setting and help are designed. So that the system has a friendly user interface, and the testing efficiency can be improved.Through debugging and improving, 8G/SS1 protection device testing system has passed through the north Taiyuan Locomotive Depot technical appraisal by experts, and put into use formally, and has achieved very good efficiency.
