For the unique advantages on heat treatment of metal surface, the MHz-ultra high frequency induction heating power supply has a good application prospect. A novel bi-switching ultra high frequency resonant inverter is introduced. The converter can have a very good deal with the problem of the parasitic inductance and parasitic capacitance of the MHz-level circuit. All switch devices operate in zero-voltage soft switching mode, which can great reduce the switching loss. So the converter topology is very suitable for ultra high frequency induction heating power supply.Detail operation principle, math analysis of the characteristics and design algorithm for the converter topology are presented. The analysis of the topology working conditions for the inductive, resistive, capacitive load, and the state and scope of the zero-voltage soft-switching under the conditions of four classic Inverter load topology are also proposed, which can get the conclusion: LLC inverter load topology is the most suitable for this converter. The control and protect circuit was designed. For validating the excellent performance of the converter used in ultra high frequency induction heating simulation and experimental results operating around 1MHz frequency is given.
