Urban planning is a combination of practicality and aesthetics of art. it is a general blueprint for urban development, and every person living in the city are closely related, so the city planners and planning is not only a matter of leadership, city residents also should be involved. But for various reasons, such as differences in personal preferences, cultural differences and values of different factors restrict on the ordinary people of the city's role in urban planning. Although planning can give the results to the residents in advance, but its effect is not very distinct. Virtual reality technology in urban planning, not only can be real and vivid demonstration of the design concept of urban planners, but also allows residents to keep abreast of planning results, put forward their own proposals, collective wisdom, leadership and planners with a more intuitive exchange ideas, make the results more realistic and to meet the needs of people. The paper uses OpenGL technology and ADO database interface, without the aid of third-party control, the system built from the overground, ground and underground parts, to maximize the combined study. The system use the traditional two-dimensional concept to manage three-dimensional data, take full account of real problems in mountain urban planning, to design specific and targeted spatial analysis. The system implement loading module, module texture and roaming, build a virtual city scenes, make the results closer to the real planning scenarios, combined with GIS spatial analysis function, providing technical support for decision-making.The area of Urban planning researching is broad, it includes the construction planning, road planning, facilities planning and pipeline planning, including sub-rules and detailed regulations. The paper's propose is to be helpful to mountain urban planning with complexed terrain Although this system can not run through the whole planning service business, but can play a supporting visual effect. Based on this, the follows is the context:1. Studed 3D texture mapping techniques and the definition of texture, texture control, mapping and texture coordinates are described, descript the main function of the definition and parameters.the system implented three-dimensional texture mapping using OpenGL and three-dimensional surface features of three-dimensional terrain model texture.2. Introduced the concept of DEM and data structures, and in-depth study of the principles of rule-based grid DEM, how to get DEM data source from ARCGIS and complete the three-dimensional expression in OpenGL.achieve a regular grid DEM in the OpenGL environment with the vivid DOM.3. Analysis of the X model files of the internal structure and working mechanism, realizing the DirectX X-model file into OpenGL environment so that the system with 3D modeling software professional such as 3DMax and Maya to share data, using the professional production of a virtual three-dimensional modeling software city model, with X model to solve the system of data collection problems.4. Design and implement a set of scene roaming algorithm, the user can freely roam in three-dimensional scence, improved roaming speed, and design a ground collision function, you can roam along the ground to enhance the realism when roaming, Browse through the settings can be separately ground and underground facilities.5. For the influenced terrain features in mountain city planning. Designed a series of targeted three-dimensional spatial analysis, such as sunlight analysis, slope and aspect analysis, buffer analysis and engineering calculations.6. The three-dimensional model data and attribute data connect through the ID value, Properties can be used for object query and positioning the model.
