Underground Space is gradually becoming the main de direction of the development of big cities, meanwhile Underground Street becoming links between city spaces.Nevertheless,Underground Space and underground streets are also facing many problems: negative evaluations such as spatial repression, congestion, and monotony, and lack of relevant research on spatial scale, interface morphology and spatial psychological perception of underground streets in academic circles at home and abroad.Spatial scale and interface morphology of Underground Street are taken as the research object of the paper.Virtual simulation experiment and statistical quantitative analysis are used as the research method, and the multi-disciplinary theories are considered,in order to explore the relevance associations between spatial scale, interface morphology and spatial psychological perception of Underground Street. It is hoped that through the research process and conclusions, possible design proposals for the length units,cross-section dimensions, and interface morphology of underground streets will be provided. The paper is divided into four parts. The first part is introduction. The second part is experimental theory research. The third part is the experiments. The fourth part is the experimental conclusion applications and design suggestions.Experiment(A)explores the correlation between psychological cognition and spatial physics dimensions of underground street scales.Based on the above experimental methods, four “physical stimulation-psychological cognitive” regression function models were established to establish a more appropriate underground street scale range: the D/H was concentrated between 1.0-1.7,the W/D was concentrated at 1.9-2.7,L/D index concentrates on 10.2-12.2.Experiment A is to explore the correlation between psychological cognition and spatial physics dimensions of Underground Street.Based on the above experimental methods, four "physical stimulus-psychological cognition" regression function models were established to obtain appropriate scales for cognitive street length,D/H,and W/D in Underground Street. After all,a question was raised: what the influence and mechanism of Underground Street interface on the cognition and evaluation of the spatial scale is,which has become the research basis and direction of Experiment B.Experiment(B)is based on the research results of Experiment A to further explore the relationship between interface morphology and spatial scale perception and spatial evaluation of underground streets. The results show that the degree of openness(or closure)of the interface of the underground street can significantly affect the judgment of the length of the underground street. The spatial interface with a larger proportion of openings can effectively enhance the experience and evaluation of the underground street space. The opening ratio is 80%.About 90% of the evaluation is better.Dues to the experimental results, possible design strategies and suggestions for practical applications of Underground Street in terms of length,D/H,W/H,interface morphology and scale are provided in caution.
