Comfortable lighting and intelligent lighting are the important trends of lighting technology, especially in vehicle lighting. In this paper we researched the characteristics and lighting requirements of public transportation vehicle based on ergonomics and environmental psychology theory, then we proposed the conception of "little space" and designed suitable lighting strategies for such environment. The design has realized the combining of functions and comfort of lighting, and it can present reference standards for lighting design and practice for these environment.Firstly, On the basis of deeply research on Social psychology and environmental psychology, the paper proposed the conception of little space and focused on aircraft cabin lighting. We creatively introduced visual ergonomics into the design and evaluation of lighting in little space, and it resolved the problem of the lack of human factors in intelligent lighting, furthermore, the real combination of intelligence with comfort of lighting can present better travel experience for passengers. Simultaneously, the theme could provide the design standards for improving the lighting condition in such vehicle environment.On the basis of research on selecting key parameters and key factors of repetition of real scene, the paper did researching and developing of the ergonomics experiment platform of the repetition and the digital lighting test&control and evaluation system which is based on industrial computer and data processing cards. The system can realize the repetition of lighting environment, meanwhile, it can realize the control of each parameter of lighting.After the research of the passenger behaviors and requirements, we designed the static mode lighting strategy and dynamic lighting strategy, then optimized configuration of the parameter such as the illumination, uniformity and color temperature etc. Result of ergonomics experiments showed that the optimization can increase the objectors'acceptance to the environment. This paper also creatively took minimum sample spaces orientation and feedback control into intelligent lighting control system. Then, we proposed the method of wireless sensor network inversion and optimization control method based on visual ergonomics. The work realized the purpose of combining the intelligence and comfort.As stated previously, this paper designed the strategy of little space lighting to improve the lighting effects, and applied this strategy to design the system of intelligent lighting. The research is important for lighting design and application of such environment as public transportation vehicles.
