At present, domestic paddy rice growth model was not applied broadly. The reliable and abundant data source was an important factor for widespread application of the crop simulating model. Currently, acquiring data is easier than before, because of steady development of domestic data sharing. Easy to acquire shared data provided the reality basis for using the conventional data to simulate paddy rice growth.Using conventional data to simulate paddy rice growth was a key of the relization for widespread application of the crop simulating model,and which is worth researching. However, whether the quality of these data can meet the paddy rice growth simulating demand needs further to discuss.Therefore, I used conventional data to simulate development stage and yield of paddy rice, then compared these simulating results with practical observations, and analysed simulating effect in depth; at the same time, I synthetically evaluated the quality of those conventional data from the whole process of data acquisition to data application with indicators of accuracy, timeliness, accessibility, integrity, credibility, applicability, redundancy and understandable using the method of qualitative and quantitative combination. The final target was to found credible and conventional data source which can meet regional paddy rice growth simulating demand needs.The main conclusions of this paper were that, it had a good simulation effect of development stage of single-crop rice. Daily meteorological data from the data set of China's terrestrial climate daily value had a better quality to fully satisfy the requirements of the regional paddy rice simulation, data quality of development stage from the data set of Chinese crop growth status were good to basically satisfy the requirements of the regional paddy rice simulation. It had a bad simulation effect of rice yield, the main reason was that data used in ORYZA2000 model had higher demands for the number of rice varieties and measurement standards, and particularly ensuring the data number of panicle formation stage to be extremely important. It is difficult to obtain the conventional network sharing data to be appropriate for regional rice growth simulation, which include rice varieties and the corresponding field management, soil properties, water and others.
