Eucalyptus spp. (Myrtaceae), including E. urophylla, E. grandis and E. grandisvar, is one of the main species of fast-growing forest in Fujian province. It has some fine characteristics such as rapid growth, straight stem, short rotation and good quality, so it is a good material for paper making and building. The area of Eucalyptus spp. is more than 40000 hm2 only in the region of Zhangzhou and Longyan. However, the variety of insect pests and disease of the eucalyptus was increasing, and their damage to the eucalyptus was aggravating because of the cultivation of large area of man-made pure eucalyptus forest. Buzura suppressaria Guenee is a new pest of the eucalyptus, its harm to eucalyptus was found in Zhangping and Nanjing in 2006 for the first time. To control the pest and solve the practical product problems, the experiment of screening of the pesticide against B. suppressaria Guenee and the experiment of control the pest by compound pesticides. The main results were following. The result of toxicity determination of single chemical pesticide and biopesticide showed that chemical pesticide fenvalerate, deltamethrin and biopesticide avermectins have good effects on the 2nd instar larvae at sensitivity and toxicity, and could be used to control the larvae of B. suppressaria Guenee in the forest. The results of toxicity determination of compound pesticide indicated that the most ef-fective chemical pesticide by orthogonal experimental design was 20%envalerate (10000×)+0.6% deltamethrin (4000×)+80% DDVP (2000x), and the most effective biopesticide was Bt (2000×)+25% benrophenolureas (3000×)+20% fenvalerate (30000×). Both of them could be used to control the larvae of B. suppressaria Guenee in the forest. The control effect of chemical pesticide reached 77%~100% after spraying the larvae with 20% fenvalerate EC (6000~8000×),0.6% deltamethrin EC (4000~5000×) alone 7 days. The effect of single biopesticide (avermectins (4000~5000×), Bt (1000~1500×)) was 74%~97%. When sprayed the larvae with the compound chemical pesticides A3B3C3, A2B2C3 and A1B3C3, the control effect was up to 84%~100% 7 days later. The control effect of the larvae, sprayed with the compound biopesticides alb3c2, alb3c3 and alblcl reached 87%~96% 7 days later. The control effect of compound pesticide was above 89% after sprayed with the smoke agent (diesel+20% fenvalerate EC) after 7 days at the propotrion of 5 Kg+ 0.375 Kg,5 Kg+0.25 Kg,5 Kg+0.125 Kg respectively.
