In this paper, 28 crosses were made by Griffing method II with 7 yellow- seeded lines Brassica napus L.which came from different genetic background .Oil content of seed and hull and embryo, tannin content of embryo, protein content of embryo, crude fiber content of hull, yield/plant, yellow degree and 1000-seed weight, 9 characters in all, were scored. Analysis of variance and combining ability and correlation analysis were made on these characters. Path analysis was performed on protein content of embryo, and oil content of seed and yield/plant. The main results were as followed: The estimative ratio between components of genetic variance and phenotypic variance indicated that yield/plant and 1000-seed weight were mainly controlled with additive and dominant effect. Tannin content of embryo, protein content of embryo, crude fiber content of hull, oil content of hull and seed and yellow degree were also controlled with additive and dominant effect. Tannin content of embryo was also affected by the environment. Analysis on the combining ability of yield/plant showed that GHO2, GHO3, GHO4, GH17 were excellent parents. Analysis on the combining ability of 1000-seed weight showed that GHO2, GHO4, GHI5, GH16 were excellent parents. Analysis on the combining ability of protein content of embryo showed that 0H03, GHI 5, GH16 were excellent parents. Analysis on the combining ability of crude fiber content of hull showed that GHOI, GHO4, GHI6 were excellent parents. Analysis on the combining ability of oil content of hull showed that GHO3, GHO4 were excellent parents. Analysis on the combining ability of oil content of seed showed that GHO2,GHI 5, GHI6, Gl-l1 7 were excellent parents. Analysis on the combining ability of yellow degree showed that GHO1, GH15, GI-116 were excellent parents. In the view of good quality and high efficiency, GHO2,GHI6 were excellent parents which may 3 produce the combination of high yield and good quality. The specific combining abilities of the crosses were analysed too in the paper. Correlation analysis indicated that oil content of embryo was significantly positive correlated with oil content of seed. Tannin content of embryo was significantly negative correlated with crude fiber content of hull and oil content of hull and 1000-seed weight. Protein content of embryo was significantly negative correlated with crude fiber content of hull while significantly positive correlated with yield/plant .Oil content of seed was significantly positive correlated with yellow degree. Path analysis showed that tannin content of embryo and crude fiber content of hull and 1000-seed weight had great effect on protein content of embryo. Yield/plant and 1000-seed weight had great effect on protein content of embryo through crude fiber content of hull. Oil content of embryo and crude fiber content of hull and yellow degree had directly great effect on oil content of seed. Crude fiber content of hull and yellow degree had indirectly great effect on oil content of seed through yield/plant whereas crude fiber content of hull had directly great effect on yield/plant. Yellow degree had indirectly great effect on yield/plant through crude fiber content of hull. Some points about rapcseed quality breeding were proposed in this paper. It may be useful for the breeding of yellow-seeded Brassica napus L..
