AbstractSince l960's,the areas of secondary saline soi1 rapid increased in Hetao Irrigation District of InnerMongolia. and seriousI}' influenced the agriculture's sustained development. major reasons are poorirrigation manage and incomplete drainage establishment. So the experiment of early autumn irrigationto keep soil moisture, soi1 amelioration and improvement of saline soiI had been carried out in Sanhuhearea of Wulate lrrigation District, obtained good results. lt is very necessary to popularize this researchresult. Therefore, based on the quantitative analysis and systematic summation for the experiment dat4using Xonwing 4.1 ExPert System Tool, has developed the expert system of keeping soil moisture andmanagement decision making of early autumn irrigation in Hetao lrrigation District.This expert system has involved three subsystem, such as the reasons and advantages ofimplementing early autumn irrigation, forecast and decision making and the measure of keeping andadjusting soil moisture and so on. Because the situation dynamic ofgroundwater table has a large effectto decision making of early autumn irrigation and the measures of keeping and adjusting soil moistUre,so the dynamic forecast of groundwater table has been studied. According to each character of the fourfacets', using multimedia technique to increase system's visibility and set up the math. model toimprove the prediction precision.ln the subsystem of the necessity for implementing early autumn irrigation, has adopted larsenumbers of multimedias such as photograPhs, video recording and writing to lively and brightly expressthe difference of soil moisture and saIinity betWeen the ear1y autumn irrigation and late autumnirrigation, and the different effect betWeen implemented the measures of keeping soil moisture andwithout implement, and it directly and clearly ethibit the weakness of late autumn irrigation andflooding irrigation, the advantage of early autumn irrigation and implementing soil moisture keepingmeasures. Only striking the function button, user would turn into the information menu. It is very usefulto popularize the technical of early-autumn irrigation and soil moisture keeping to fanners.ln Hetao irrigation district, the situation dynamic of groundwater table was effected by irrigationtiming, irrigation quot4 soiI charactef, and drainage and freeze date. The groundwater dynamic belongsto the type of irrigation (rainfall) infiltration-evaPoraion. lrrigation infiltrating water was the maincompensation for groundwateT, also caused the groundwater table increasing. Underground evaPoratingwas the important way for groundwater consumption and drainage. The paPer has studied these tWoaspects respective1y, to deduce the in-igation infiltration model and summarize the experience formulasof underground evaPoraion in unfreezing periods, and advance the groundwater table falling modelfrom autumn irrigation to neXt early spring in Sanhehe region. Based on the mentioned above modelsand experience formulas, the groundwater dynamic can be forecasted.IlThe subsystem of autumn irrigation decision-making management included two aspects of forecasting irrigation quota and irrigation timing. According to man-machine interface, user only input the data of soil type, initial soil water content, salinity degree and leaching requirement, the computer will devise reasonable prediction of autumn irrigation quota by interface. For the forecast of irrigation time, only input the groundwater table depth at the beginning of September, the degree of soil salinity, the distance between land drainage ditch, and the date of freeze-up, then the user can obtain the advice of proper autumn irrigation timing.The measures of keeping and adjusting soil moisture is a necessary link after early autumn irrigation, it has ascertain function to achieve the aims of soil amelioration and improvement of saline soil.
