Study on the Chromosomes of Angora and Native Goats Abstract The peripheral blood lymphocyte culture method, chromosomal karyotypic and banding techniques were used to study the chromosomal karyotypes, G-band and C-band of Angora goats (10 male and 10 female) and Shanxi Native goats (8 male and 7 female). The results showed that the number of diploid chromosomes of Angora and Native goats was 2n~6O, (male 60,XX, female 60,XY).All the 29 homologous pairs of autosomes and the X chromosome were acrocentric chromosomes. The Y chromosome was submetacentric in Angora goats, and metacentric in Native goats. In addition, the X chromosome was the longest, whereas the Y chromosome was the shortest in the chromosome complement. The results of measuring chromosome showed that the relative length of all autosomes was mostly similar between Angora and Native goats; however, the sexual chromosomes not only were different in morphology but also had significant difference (P |
