Unrasonable human activities aggravatcd the soil erosion in Guichou province,and brough out a series of the vicious ecological result, Which produced greateconomic costs directly or indirectly Based on the present situation of serious soilerosion -- the synthetic form of expression and the consequence of ecologicaldisturbances. The paper applies the basic principles and methods of environmentaleconomics, the relevat matcrials and the newest dnd of remote sense, estimatesthe economic costs because of soil erosion in the form of currency in Guizhouprovince, and clarifies some relevat concepts that wasn't clear in the past.Ecological element affects each othef, so economic costs because of soil erosionare all-around. The paper selects the amoun of costs of N. P. K and that of thedetained soil and that of the deposited soil as the index of the economic costs,estimates the currency result of economic costs on-site and off site, and comPares itwith the main indexes of economy construction, and shows the extent of economiccoSts vividly and directly in Guizhou province. MeanWile, according to theestimatCd results, the paPer comes uP with the correspondent cootrmeasures andprovides macroscopic scientific basis for the policies of the environmentamanagement.
