This experiment was carried out during 2006-2007 in teaching orchard of YangZhou University. The grape variety Kyoho(Vitis vinifera×Vitis labrusca.cv Kyoho), grape rootstock SO4(Selection oppenheim No.4, V.berlondieri×V. riparia) , grape rootstock DE( DogRidge, V. champini),grape rootstock Beta(Vitis labrusca L.×Vitis riparia Michx.cv.Beta)were used as researching materials. The effects of soil applications and foliar applications of K fertilizer on the characters of potassium absorption, transportation and distribution were studied in the different organs of grape variety Kyoho and, grape rootstock Beta. And the impacts of rootstocks SO4, DE and Beta on shoot growth, setting rates and fruit qualities of Kyoho which was grafted on the three kinds of rootstockwere also investgated. The main results were as follow:1. Both the dried weight and potassium content at mg/g.DW of the different organs in Kyoho cuttages and rootstock Beta increased as the soil application amount of K fertilizer was improved.The superior potassium contents in biennial roots, trunks and biennial branches and the inferior potassium contents in annual roots were found for Kyoho cuttages and rootstock Beta,and for the distribution rate of total potassium contents in Kyoho cuttages and rootstock Beta plants,the trunks ranked first, but autumn shoots in the end.2. The potassium contents of leaves and petioles were clearly influenced by the foliar applications of K salts (KCl,K2SO4or KH2PO4) in Kyoho cuttages and rootstock Beta.The potassium content of petioles was easilier affected by the foliar applications of K salts than that of leaves.It seemed that the effect of foliar applications of KH2PO4 on an increase of potassium content in fruits was better than that of K2SO4.3. The change range of potassium content of petioles was larger than that of leaves for the researching materials in this experiment.No .remarkable differences in potassium content of leaves which came from different part in same shoot were found. But the potassium contents of leaves and petioles in Kyoho plants were higher than that in rootstock Beta plants, and the potassium contents of leaves and petioles in fruiting shoots of Kyoho plants than that in developing shoots of Kyoho plants.4. The growing characters of grape rootstocks made strong influences on the growin characters of grape varietise which had been grafted on those rootstocks.In this trial,it could be seen that the the growth characters of shoots,leaves and tendrils in grafted Kyoho plants were connected with rootstocks on which the Kyoho plants were grafted. In the same, the change tendency of potassium contents in grafted Kyoho plants were also interrelated with rootstocks on which the Kyoho plants were grafted.5. In this experiment no significant effects of three kinds of rootstocks on setting and soulable sugar centents of fruits were found for the Kyoho plants which had been grafted on rootstocks SO4, DE and Beta.
