XiaoYan81 dry seeds were implanted by low energy N+ ion-beam(with 30 KeV energy),and then the main agronomic properties of M2 generation plants in the field were observed.The results showed that many properties were mutanted such as plant height,ear type,wheat awn,protein content and yield traits etc after implantation.We observed there were 9 mutant types of ear,and others such as purple stem,thick stem,phimosis, early-maturing,infertility,disease susceptibility and easy-lodging.The correlation of Agronomic to Quality Characters in M2 generation of wheat XiaoYan81 implanted by low energy N+ ion-beam was also analized.The results indicated that protein content of wheat grain were significantly negative correlation with the 1000-grain weight,harvest index and had not correlattion with tiller number.The 1000-grain weight was negative correlated with tiller number.Harvest index was significantly positive correlation with the 1000-grain weight,and had not correlation with tiller number.The variation and composition of high-molecula-weight glutenin subunits (HMW-GS) of 3081 M2 seeds of wheat xiaoyan81 implanted by two radiation doses were analyzed by using SDS-PAGE.Six missing mutant types of HMW-GS were obtained. They are 1Ax1 missing mutant,1Bx14+1By15 missing mutant,1Dx2+1Dy12 missing mutant,1Dy12 missing mutant,1By15 missing mutant and 1By15+1Dy12 missing mutant. The results also indicated that HMW-GS mutants induced by N+ implantation had dose effect and subunits sites in different chromosomes had different sensitive degree to N+.The mutant frequency of subunit sites was Glu-1A>Glu-1B>Glu-1D,and it's same to both doses.The same analysis was done to M3 generations,and the results showed that 4 kinds of HMW-GS missing mutant were found.They were 1Ax1 missing mutant,1Bx14+1By15 missing mutant,1Dx2+1Dy12 missing mutant and 1Dy12 missing mutant.So these four kinds of mutant could be inherited,its genetic variation rate was 23.2%.The swelling index of glutenin(SIG) in flour from CK,Chinese Spring,1Ax1 missing mutant and 1Bx14+1By15 missing mutant were detected.The results show that the quality of mutants were generally lower than wild-type.SIG also had relevance to the number and types of subunits,the less subunits had smaller SIG..subunit 7+8 was more important to the quality of wheat than subunit 14+15.
