On the basis of the investigation of both domestic and international status of equipment for harvesting crop stubble, key technology and components for harvester of crop stubble, especially for the corn stubble with strong root, which are respectively the drag reduction excavation and excavation spring tooth, are deeply studied by employing the method of combining theory analysis and computer simulation. Excavation spring tooth and virtual prototype for harvesting corn stubble are designed. The mechanism of bionic drag reduction and vibration drag reduction, especially the drag reduction of self-exited vibration, is analyzed. The geometrical and biomechanical characteristics of the animal claw toes which possess the excellent digging function are studied. The working resistance for tillage tool of the bionic variable curvature surface and the linear tillage tool is comparatively analyzed. According to the analysis above the key components of excavation spring tooth is developed, including the design of self-exited vibration S-shaped spring handle and curved chisel-shaped bionic tooth. The improved scheme is brought forward by using the finite element software ANSYS to analyze the rationality of the design for the excavation spring tooth. The finite element model of the excavation spring tooth is established. The major load endured by the excavation spring tooth is defined on the basis of computation and model of the resistance on the surface of the bionic tooth. The static mechanics analysis of the excavation spring tooth improved is finished by using the finite element software ANSYS. The stress and strain distribution diagrams of the excavation spring tooth during the course of harvesting crops are given, which proved the rationality of the design for the excavation spring tooth.Virtual prototype for harvesting corn stubble is designed. Motion simulation analysis for work agencies of virtual prototype are made by using the software Pro/E, the key components of the machine are optimized, and the simulation study on harvesting technology of the virtual prototype for harvesting crop stubble is made by using the software 3DS MAX, which provide some references and basis for further trial and the development of physical prototype. The results of the study show that, selecting the operation form of self-exited vibration to simulate the real-time and flexibly adjustable structure performed by the soil animal during the course of digging soil, and combining the geometrical shape of the excavation spring tooth with optimization design by using the geometry information of animal's claw toes which possess outstanding function of digging ,can reduce the excavating resistance effectively, tool worn, and the energy consumption ,which is meaningful in the practical engineering.
