Objective:Macrovascular complication have become one of the most mutilative and lethal reason of diabetes mellitus(DM), though the exact mechanism of it is not clear.In recent years,more and more evidences indicate inflammation play an important role in development of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM), regard T2DM as a natural immunity and hypo-inflam disease. Peripheral blood Leukocyte(WBC) and cytokine Interleukin-6(IL-6), which is played notable attention in development of T2DM as one of the significant chronic inflammation markers.So our objective is blew:1.To observe the variance of IL-6,WBC,Course,Body mass index(BMI),Systolic blood pressure(SBP),Diastolic blood pressure(DBP),Glycosylated haemoglobinAlc (GHbAlc),Total cholesterol(TC),Triglyceride(TG,Fasting plasma glucose(FPG),Fasting plasma insulin(FINS),2 Hours postprandial plasma glucose(P2PG)et al a series of index in T2DM with vascular disease of carotid artery (VDCA).2.To explore the contribution of IL-6,WBC and the possible relationship between those parameters in above, so we maybe offer new and useful method in the design of the early diagnostic and therapeutic approached to threat and prevent the prognosis macro-angiopathy in T2DM.Methods:use groups control study1.Studu object:Sixty patients of T2DM who were in the endocrinology department of QianFoShan Hospital were observed between October 2005 and October 2006,32 men and 28 wemen were included,their average age is (51.82±8.62) years.The diagnostic criteria of T2DM is according to the diagnostic criteria which is accepted by WHO in 1999.The course of these patients is between 1month to 14 years.The patients were divided into two groups according to if they have the complication of VDCA.Each group including 30 patients.The control group including 31 objectes.2.The check of the examination:All the patients were tested their BMI,SBP,DBP,GHbAlc,TC,TG,FPG,P2PGand FINS et al a series of index.The serum IL-6 level was examed by the method of Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA);peripheral blood WBC and classify was tested using Automatic hema-cytoanalyze.3.The measurement carotid artery:We test the Inner-Media thickness(IMT),sclerotization,plaque and stenosis of the carotid artery by the color Doppler Ultrasound on the body surface.Results:1.The peripheral blood WBC and serum IL-6 levels were higher in T2DM groups than that in control group(p<0.01).2.The peripheral blood WBC and serum IL-6 levels were higher in T2DM with complication of VDCA than that in T2DM without complication of VDCA,the difference between these two groups has statistic significance(P<0.01).3.The serum IL-6 levels have an positive correlation with peripheral blood WBC levels in diabetes mellitus (r=0.797, P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The peripheral blood WBC and serum IL-6 levels were higher in T2DM groups than that in the control group,which indicated the two parameters have an significant effect in the course of development of T2DM.2.The peripheral blood WBC and serum IL-6 levels were higher in T2DM with VDCA than that in T2DM without VDCA,which indicated the two parameters have an interaction and significant effect in development of VDCA.3.The peripheral blood WBC and serum IL-6 levels have an positive correlation, which may offer meri-theory evidences for clinical early diagonostic and therapeutic in VDCA of T2DM.
