Application Of Urokinase-type Plasminogen Activator (upa) In Diagnosis Of Breast Cancer In Women

Objective:Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancy in women. Tumor invasion and metastasis poses one of the biggist risks to the patients with breast cancer. In recent years, since the level of living is raising and the lifestyle is changing, the number of breast cancer patients gradually increase. Therefore, the diagnosis concepts are also constantly updated. Studies have shown that there is a significant relationship between expression of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) in serum and invasion and metastasis of breast cancer. These results in this study provide a new experimental evidence for assessment as a early diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer.Methods:We measured the level of uPA in the surum of Normal population, the patients with benign breast disease and cancer by ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay).Results:The level of uPA in normal group are stable in a lower interval, while patients with benign breast disease and the patients with breast cancer gradually increased the value of the higher bounds, and the breast cancer group is exposed at the highest values. There is a significant difference among these three groups (p<0.01). There is a significant different in the groups of normal mammary cells, benign cells and breast cancer cells with the expression of uPA.There is a significant difference with the Axillary lymph metastases of the Breast Carcinoma and the size and cell differentiation, no significant with age of the patients. Conclusion:1. The study showed there is a gradually increased from normal people group, benign cell group to breast cancer group on the level of uPA.It also appeared that there is a correlation between the value of uPA and the cell differentiation. Cell differentiation lower, the level of uPA higher.It implied that uPA can provides an useful information in diagnosis of breast cancer.It seems to be a clinical value in early diagnosis and prognosis.2. uPA expression in Benign cell group was significantly higher than the normal group,it also tips that can be used in early diagnosis. There are significant differences in these three groups, it can be considered as a biobmarker of diagnosis and assessment for breast cancer.3. There is a significant correlation between the level of uPA and the condition of patients with the Axillary lymph metastases of the Breast Carcinoma and the size and cell differentiation, no significant with age of the patients.
