ObjectiveTo study the relationship between serum uric acid level and coronary heart disease(CHD), to discuss whether serum uric acid is an independent risk factor of CHD or not.MethodsSerum uric acid and its relationship with coronary heart desease(CHD) was analyzed in 187 cases hospitalized from January 2009 to September 2009.The clinical data of sex, age, medical history, laboratory results of these patients were recorded.According to the results of coronary angiography,187 cases were divided into CHD group(154 cases) and normal control group(33 cases). The CHD group were divided into the single-vessel group(50cases), double-vessel group(39cases), multiple-vessel group (65 cases) by the count of vascular lesions. The differences of the clinical data between these groups were compared.Results1.The rate of hyperuricemia in 187 cases was 17.65%,including 11.76% of men and 5.88% of women. The rate of hyperuricemia in CHD group(20.78%)was significantly higher than normal control group(3.03%)(P<0.05).The rate of hyperuricemia was correlated with the count of vascular lesions(P<0.05).2.Serum uric acid concentration of men, smoker, drinker and hypertension patients was higher than that of the controls respectively. It was positively correlated with triglyceride (TG). The correlation coefficient was 0.159.3. Serum uric acid level of CHD group(303.13±96.88μmol/L) was significantly higher than that of normal control group(258.61±79.63μmol/L) (P<0.05).4. There was an increasing trend of serum uric acid level in normal control group, single-vessel group, double-vessel group and multiple-vessel group. The serum uric acid level of multiple-vessel group (310.75±101.06μmol/L) was significantly higher than that of normal control group(258.61±79.63μmol/L) (P=0.011).There was an increasing trend of Gensini scores,TC levels and LDL-C levels in these groups too.5.Age,diabetes mellitus and serum uric acid level were associated with CHD with an odds ratio (OR) of 1.081,7.962,1.006 respectively.ConclusionSerum uric acid concentration is related to the occurrence, development and vascular lesions degree of CHD.It was an independent risk factor of CHD.
