On The Drug Addicts' Impulsive Characteristics And Its Affecting Factors

Impulsivity is a central feature of drug addicts. The researchersdistinguish impulsivity into characteristics type and status type, accordingto the impulsive performance of stability and situational. Study of theimpulsive levels of drug addicts can be used to check the treatmenteffects. Drug treatment methods and the drug treatment time are closelyrelated with impulsivity, for it has a linkage which studies have confirmedthat sensation seeking as a search for changeable, strange and complexfeeling or experience, personality traits and impulsivity are highlycorrelated.This study mainly focused on the drug addicts impulsivecharacteristics and the effect that treatment methods, sensation seekingand drug treatment time on the trait impulsivity and state impulsivity. TheBIS -11 of the Chinese version is used to inspect the applicability of thedrug addicts, later is used to measure the trait of impulsivity. And usedelay discount rate of delay discount experiment as an indicator of theimpulsive state.Combined the results of this study, get the following conclusions:(1)The BIS -11 of Chinese version has a good reliability and validity,which can be used in drug addicts impulsive measurement and research.(2)The treatment method has a significant difference to impulsivetraits and impulsive state of drug addicts. The impulsive traits of forceddrug addict is much higher than those of methadone maintenancetreatment.(3)Sensation seeking has a significant difference to impulsive traitsand impulsive state. The high-sensation seeking is significantly higherthan the impulse of those with low sensation seeking.(4)Treatment time has a significant difference to impulsive traits. Forthe forced drug addicts, Impulsive traits of the short-term drug addictswere significantly higher than the long-term drug addicts, and there is nosignificant difference in medium-term and long-term drug addicts, which is upon the total impulsivity and attention impulsive, sports impulsive,unplanned impulsive dimension. For the methadone maintenancetreatment, short-and medium-term impulsive traits of drug addicts issignificantly higher than the long-term treatment, while there is nosignificant difference in Short-term and medium-term drug addicts.(5)The effect of drug treatment time to the impulsive state has nosignificant difference.
