Clinical Remission And Long-term Efficacy Of Tonsillectomy In Patients With Iga Nephropathy

Background:To evaluate the Clinical Remission and Long-term Efficacy of IgA nephropathy patients after the tonsillectomy.Method:We inspect on PUBMED database, CNKI, WanFang database etc several electric databases and Chinese medical magazine, for all the clinical case contol studies of tonsillectomy in patients with IgA nephropathy, and carry on meta analysis to these studies, evaluating total clinical remission rate, remission rate of different treatment: tonsillectomy plus Steroid Pulse, tonsillectomy plus normal-dose Steroid and general treatment (without tonsillectomy or steroid) etc,the end-stage renal failure (ESRF) rate at the final observation, evaluating the long-term renal survival rate.Relult:Totally,we bring into 7 researches as a result[1-7], which are all retrospective studies. There are 858 patients, 534 patients underwent tonsillectomy, and 324patients didn't. The total clinical remission rate in operation group is significantly higher than non-operation group, the ESRF rate in non-operation group is higher than operation group, the clinical remission rate in operation group is higher than non-operation when those people underwent tonsillectomy five-year and 10-year later, the clinical remission rate in patients underwent tonsillectomy plus Steroid Pulse is higher than patients treated with Steroid pulse therapy,normal-dose Steroid ,general treatment(P<0.05).But the clinical remission rate of simple tonsillectomy isn't higher than general treatment(P >0.05).Conclusion:Tonsillectomy can raise clinical remission rate and have beneficial Long-term efficacy to patients with IgA nephropathy;the curative of tonsillectomy plus steroid pulse or tonsillectomy plus normal-dose steroid is better than simple glucocorticoid or other drug therapies;simple tonsillectomy can't raise remission rate.
