The interrogative sentence is a hot spot of linguistics study, especially in the study of dialects. Predecessors have made great achievements in the study of linguistics, but nobody has done the research about the interrogative sentence of Enshi dialect. This article is trying to discuss the related essential factors and characters of the interrogative sentence of Enshi dialect and based on the results of Putonghua research and interrogative sentence research about other dialects which made by the predecessors.The whole article includes five chapters and a conclusion.The first chapter is an introduction which mainly about the background, the gist, the goal, the research situation, the humanistic geography and phonetic system of Enshi dialect.The second chapter analyzes the methods of expressing questions in Enshi dialect—phonetic method, glossary method and grammar method. The phonetic method uses the rising and falling intonation to express question, the glossary method uses the interrogative pronouns or interrogative words to express question, and the grammar method mainly express question by using V-not-V fold in or clausal enumeration.The third chapter analyzes interrogative pronouns of Enshi dialect. It separates the interrogative pronouns into three parts which are nominal pronouns, predicate pronouns and additional pronouns. The nominal pronouns can replace common nouns, words of time, locative words and quantifiers. The predicate pronouns can replace verbs and adjectives. And the additional pronouns can replace adverbs. The article describes the meaning and usage of the usual interrogative pronouns of Enshi dialect in detail, and at the same time, specially analyzes the non-interrogative function of interrogative pronoun of Enshi dialect—the interrogative pronouns can be used to express the nonspecific and the emphatic. The fourth chapter mainly analyzes interrogative particles of Enshi dialect. The modal particles to specially express questions in Enshi dialect are few, but there are many modal particles can express question which are at the end of the interrogative sentence. This article does some descriptions and explanations of the usual modal particles.The fifth chapter discusses the types of the interrogative sentence of Enshi dialect. According to the questioners'subjective demands, the article divides the interrogative sentence into two parts, which are interrogative sentence without question and with question. The interrogative sentence without question includes raising questions and rhetorical questions. The others are interrogative sentence with question. The interrogative sentence with question includes specific interrogation and alternative question, and the alternative question is comprised of V-not-V question and yes-or-no question.Finally, it is the summary of the paper. The article summarizes the main conclusion and the deficiency, and figures out the direction of future efforts.
