Music performance is an art of re-creation. Its creativity reflects the essence of charm. As far as aesthetic valuator is concerned, only if the creation is within the range of reasonability will the musical performance be considered rational. As such, the study of rational range is not only an important issue in musical performance theory, but also instructive to music critic and performance activity. In this thesis, the author selects four acoustic versions of Bach's Chaconne and probes into the rationality of the range of timing and dynamics in each version. This study analyzed the acoustic parameters of the four recordings. Based on that, the author proved the rationality of artistic creation in four recordings according to the text illustration of music piece and the analysis of appreciators'psychological experiences. The study showed that the artistic creation in four recordings presented rationality to some extent. Appreciators can find text basis from sheet or relevant historical materials. Furthermore, the range of re-creation in each version is within the acceptable range of appreciators'physiology, psychology and cognition.
