As a close neighbour of China separated only by a strip of water, Japan is similar to China in its language, character, culture and custom, which offers Japanese a quick start and the advantageous conditions to learn Chinese. However, quite a few existing differences between these two languages make Japanese slow down their pace of study, make little progress and even trapped in a bottleneck after reaching a certain stage. This paper makes a probe into the analysis and research of Chinese words learning among Japanese students, and then accordingly generates relevant strategies for teaching words to Japanese in a more effective way. The paper can be divided into the following four parts:Firstly, it summarizes the history, characteristics and current situations of Chinese teaching and learning, combining diachrony with synchronic to find out the objective causes of problems while learning, which may help to break through the bottle mouth through practice. Secondly, we can not only find out similarity and differentia between Chinese and Japanese words through relative and contrastive analysis, but also analyze the problems of Chinese words acquisition and application through introducing heteronym and homonymy in macroscopy. Thirdly, it discusses error analysis in the process of learning Chinese words to generalize and attribute the mistakes made by Japanese. On the one hand, acceptation errors exist in the range of use, tincture of words, the type of writing and the collocation of meaning while on the other hand, morphology errors include the misuse and misapplication of nouns, verbs, adjectives and certain concurrent words. At last, in connection with the outline of present situation, contrastive analysis and error analysis mentioned above, a series of specific instructional strategies, such as putting more emphasis on word-building, integrating contrastive analysis and error analysis and designing special teaching method for every kinds of course, will be drawn up to help Japanese maximize favourable factors and minimize unfavourable ones in Chinese words learning.
