Western Marxist Feminism The Perspective Of Historical Materialism

Western Marxist Feminism is the theory on Feminism into which Marxism and Feminism combine. It explains women's subordination and oppression they suffered in the view of historical materialism, agrees to the analysis by Marx and Engels about the impact of economic factors on women's oppressed status, and meanwhile, supplements, critiques and revises the traditional Marxist women's liberation. It emerged as the times required when Western Feminists were aiming at genuine human rights,and it is a new feminist theory which grew mature through the struggle between traditional feminists and radical feminists. Western Marxisit Feminism formed the situation of two contending schools through the adoption of Marxist women's emancipation mind, a unified theory and the combination which based on social reality at that time. Even though Western Marxism Feminism and Marxist Women's Liberation has been the common development, when they learn from each other's mind, But there are different between them. The Western Marxist Feminism's criticism is from the view of historical materialism. We need to pointed out that both the differences in nature though the criticism of its economic base and ideological divide ways as well as the comparison of the class concept .Finally, we should say that only Marxism is an end-result of the Women's pursuit of human rights through the analysis of the current problems faced by women.
