Chinese historical novel had modernized after its "Fiction Revolution" and then became modern historical novel. Chinese modern historical novel came into being at the beginning of the 20th century when Chinese society surged like tide, which served as a particular branch of Chinese modern literature. Contemporarily, Such two different categories of historical novel as traditional historical novel and new historical novel had been affected by modern historical novel. Therefore, there was close lineage between Chinese modern and contemporary historical novels. The significance of Chinese modern historical novel lies in that it provides abundant writing resources and literature reference to contemporary novel's writing, so it makes the writing means of contemporary historical novel more mature, perfect and diversified as well as makes the writing of contemporary historical novel attain a higher level.
