In our mind since long, the polarization between haves and have-nots in Japan has been very small. However, as the collapse of people's sense of middle class, everyone feels that the gap between rich and poor is enlarged day by day. When normal employees lose their jobs, they could receive only 40% of the normal salary and face the fear of be fired at any time. These disadvantaged people always do part-time jobs or become indentured workers with less payment and unstable social insurance. In another way, employees in the world-wide known companies like Toyota get both high salary and all kinds of ware fare and bonus, the above-mentioned aspects result in the enlargement of the gap. It is more and more difficult for people to improve their situation and turns them into different income communities. However hard they try, they still can not get rid of the heavy load of community difference.Statistics show that the gap between rich and poor has never stopped expanding during the five-year and five-month governing of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, whose policies somehow lead to all the above. By enriching the rich, the "Structure Reform" also adds some salt to the poor injury. Paying no attention to the government's responsibilities, this policy only focuses on the market competition.Expansion of domestic demand and development of society is tightly related to people's living condition. In Japan, the gap has been a serious issue to the society, which requires the government to make some positive improvements, not only developing economy, but also trying their best to provide more social security to the people.
