The drug problem is a global social effect of pollution, and drug-taking do great harm to individuals, families, society and even nations. To solve the drug problem, the all-important act is to reduce the number of drug addicts and the drug-consume market. What a system can be more effective to get the addicts free from drugs and minimize the number of re-addicts is a long-term research problem of our country's anti-drug department.In the Anti-drug Law of the People's Republic of China, hereinafter referred as Anti-Drug Law, which has been effective since June 1 2008, Article 31 to 52 of Chapter 4 technically regulates the drug rehabilitation work. The amended drug rehabilitation system specifies the four drug rehabilitation modes: voluntary medical treatment, community drug rehabilitation, compulsory isolated drug rehabilitation and community rehabilitation, which form the uniform instruction and settled lawful regulations. This thesis starts with the introduction of common drug varieties, the harm to individual and society, the drug abuse in China and the concept of drug rehabilitation system, and states the forming and development course of the system from latter-day to present-day. Especially, it emphasizes the composing of new drug rehabilitation system and the problems appeared during the system conversion after the new Anti-drug Law become effective. Also, this thesis researches the drug rehabilitation system from both the points of view in theory and practice. And combining the practical experience, the author gives some suggestions to improve our drug rehabilitation system, beginning with the idea change of drug rehabilitation and involve all the aspects of the drug rehabilitation system.
