Emergencies have brought enormous losses to people's work and life, as well as rigorous challenges to the harmony and stability of the society. Therefore, how to scientifically and effectively tackle emergencies has become a significant topic for ideological and political education. It is the significance and purpose of this investigation to study the rules of people's ideological concept, political consciousness and morality under the emergencies, to analyze the specific value of ideological and political education, and to look for a normal form to better handle emergencies.This article is based on the study of real-life emergencies. It is a systematic summary and strategic study of ideological and political education, seeking to systemize and regularize its rules, so it is necessary to constantly combine theory with practice. Meanwhile, inductive and deductive methods are adopted in this article. Ideological and political education plays various roles during different phases of emergencies, which in turn have provided certain inspiration to ideological and political education. Therefore, induction can be achieved through a specific analysis of its intrinsic logicality. In this article, comparative study is used for ideological and political education in both"normal"and"abnormal"social environment, highlighting the fact that ideological and political education should raise its educational efficiency. Comparison and contrast is also conducted toward the research findings and methods of handling emergencies in ideological and political education abroad in hopes of achieving strategy innovation to deal with emergencies.Based on those methods, this article consists of four parts. First, the concept and features of emergencies and ideological and political education are given, and the dialectical relationship of the two is illustrated through the inspiration of the former toward the latter. Handling emergencies has become an important topic for ideological and political education, whose specific value will be further explained throughout the three stages of emergencies. Finally, along with the experiences and knowledge gained during the emergencies, some new proposals are put forward regarding the principles and contents of ideological and political education. In order to more efficiently tackle emergencies, a more comprehensive system should be incorporated to promote the disciplinary construction of ideological and political education.
