Teacher's response to student's answer is that how teacher responds to and deals with student's answer. It is an integral part of question and answer between teacher and student, and it can not only ensure the smooth progress of class, but also can motivate student's activity in the study effectively. The basic theories of researches on teacher's response to student's answer are the theory of dialogues and communication instructional method and the theory of interaction between teacher and student. The present study focused on teachers'responses to students'answers in teaching observation classes and regular classes in rural primary schools and explored the status and levels of teachers'responses to students'answers in different kinds of classes. By the way of field study, reviewing video recording, interviewing teachers randomly and so on, a lot of materials on teachers'responses to students'answers in primary mathematical classes were obtained. After analyzing these materials, the results were summarized and the paper came into being. This paper analyzed the main methods and specific behavior of teachers'responses to students'answers in primary mathematical classes, put forward inappropriate behavior about teachers' responses to students' answers. The results of the study showed the main inappropriate acts about teachers'responses to students'answers in primary mathematical classes, i.e., speaking highly of students with extravagance in teaching observation classes while no feedback to students in regular classes, extremely avoiding negative evaluation, and not knowing how to last out student's opportunity to answer. This study analyzed the causative factors of these inappropriate acts. Based on the results, some pedagogical implications for teachers'responses to students' answers were suggested, including the principles, strategies and methods. This study aimed to help teacher treat responses to students'answers correctly, pay attention to the significance and effect of responses to students'answers and finally promote the reasonableness and effectiveness.
