Question-and-answer method is a traditional teaching method with a long history.It still has important practical significance in the era of emphasizing dialogue and cooperation.This paper makes a systematic study on the application of Q & A in English classroom in primary school by using the methods of literature,observation and interview,taking the author's probation school——Xuzhou Primary School as an example.This paper holds that the question-and-answer method mainly includes three types: the teacher's answer method,the student ask teacher method and question and answer method between students.Each types has its own different operation procedure and important practical value.Based on the theoretical analysis of the question and answer method,this paper makes a questionnaire on the application of the question and answer method in primary school English classroom.With the help of the observation scale and audio recording,this paper makes a comparatively objective observation on the current application of the question and answer method in English classroom in primary schools,and holds that there are many problems in the application of the teacher's question and answer method,such as teachers' preset and closed questions,teachers' waiting time and too little theories on questioning.There are some questions in the application of the students ask teacher method,such as the question and answer method being ignored,the students asking less questions independently,the students asking less questions and the teachers first evaluating and then answering and even refusing to answer.In the answer method between students,there are also some questions,such as the neglect of the question and answer method and the students' complete autonomy in asking questions and so on.There are many factors that affect the application of Q & A in primary English classroom.Among them,teachers' understanding of Q & A is too one-sided,too much attention is paid to the presupposition of teaching process,and too much attention is paid to the teaching situation.To complete the teaching task in the first place,too much attention to the teaching goals of the resultant knowledge goals,lack of sufficient respect for students,despise students' oral expression and so on.According to the present situation of the application of the question and answer method in primary school English classroom and its influencing factors,this paper holds that in orderto improve the present situation of the application of the question and answer method in primary school English classroom,teachers must fully understand and deepen their understanding of the question and answer method.Pay attention not only to the presupposition of the teaching process,but also to the generative nature of the teaching process,put the all-round development of the students at the center of their own attention,and make the teaching task serve the students' development,not the opposite.To transcend the one-sided pursuit of the fixed knowledge goal,earnestly implement the three-dimensional teaching goal advocated by the new curriculum reform,vigorously strengthen teaching democracy,recognize the status of the students as the subject of their rights,and conscientiously listen to the students.Fully understand the meaning of students' oral expression,fully understand and accept students,give students specific guidance in the process of question and answer.
