| Optical Burst Switching is in great demand for research in recent years. OBS technology combines the advantages of both optical circuit switching (OCS) and optical packet switching (OPS), while avoids their shortages. In OBS network, the small control packet, which is transmitted in advance, reserves the bandwidth resource of corresponding burst(far larger than control packet), and setups a link during limited period according to control information, which is dynamic, flexible, oriented-connectionless, transparent. In one word, the essences of OBS are dynamic, flexible, connectionless-oriented, transparent wavelength bandwidth provision capability on demand.This OBS test bed is composed of three edge nodes and one core node. Thispaper is based on the 863 project, "OBS key technologies and experimental system", and provides the design and implement of the core module of the transceiver board of the edge nodes.Chapter 1 introduces the background of OBS technology;Chapter 2 indicates the architecture of OBS test bed, the logic and physical structure of edge node;Chapter 3 gives the details of implementation of core module in OBS transceiver board of "timing sending in transmitting direction" and "channel request in receiving direction";Chapter 4 focus on the result of the whole test system and the signals captured by SignalTap II in FPGA;Chapter 5 is mainly about the conclusion of the technology of core module of the transceiver board and proposes some improvements about the next research. |
