Under the influence of the major background of digital globe,the study of Information Visualization in the Forest Resources Management is increasingly important.it is one of the important issues in forest science.In particularly,It is widely used in landscape design,forest planning and other forest management,It can achieve the realistic expression of forest scene and also can see to turn to make up to be low to the lifelike degree that the realistic world express according to Two-Dimensional GIS forest resources information systems and/bring biggest inconvenient shortage on the comprehension.At the same time,It not only give a new way for users to understand the information forest resources and gives users of forest resources information with perceptual awareness, but also makes the policy-makers of forest resources management have a more for a vivid and objective understanding and awareness of the forest scene and the real-time interactivity.This research regards the forest resources of Huang Fengqiao state-owned forest farm in Hunan Province as the information source. The writer design a three-dimensional visualization system of state-owned forest farm in ArcEngine development platform,which is composed of SQL Server relational database and ArcSDE (spatial database engine). The main findings are as follows:1. The Optimum band combination for the best visual effects is 7(R)5(G)3(B).Landsat TM satellite image in the study area is for image processing,including radiometric correction,geometric correction,image enhancement,etc..The geometric precision of the error correction maintained at less than one pixel and the surface composition of vegetation in the band 7(R)5(G)3(B) is in the most obvious effects,which can reflect the characteristics of the surface vegetation.2. Modeling the image-based tree model with the modeling software.As the GIS software in the modeling results show that not true,In this paper,3DS MAX modeling software is used to model three-dimensional tree as one-sided,which not only ensures that the display image but also reduces the amount of model data.3. The establishment of virtual forest scenes and optimization of showing effect.According to forest instruction map and the contour line in maps data,take small class as unit,read directly a small class contour line in maps data for correspond,the establishment of DEM models,and high-resolution satellite image and superimposed to generate three-dimensional terrain.On this basis use the image-based modeling technology to build three-dimensional model of a single tree to generate a virtual three-dimensional scenes of the forest.Forests have been generated in three-dimensional scene using the light,texture mapping,shading,the level of technical detail(LOD),HUD,Compass and other technology to improve the forest's rendering speed of three-dimensional scene,improved three-dimensional scene visualization effect,and enhance the forest scenes,as well as users of realistic scenes a sense of immersion.4. The afforestation simulation in Different Planting spots spacing.Stand density is controled by studying the afforestation theory and other related technical specifications,in a virtual forest scene,simulate the reforestation process in virtual forest in a different planting spots spacing.5. The realization of the selective cutting,shelterwood cutting of virtual stand based on the theory of selective cutting and shelterwood cutting of forests.Theory in the relevant technology based on Huang Fengqiao state-owned forest farm as an example of case studies,the use of visual programming tools for simulation the forest management methods of a virtual forest environment,achieve selective cutting of uneven-aged forest stand and shelterwood cutting of even-aged forest stand, including the strip-shelterwood cutting,group-shelterwood cutting,so that forest management activities in the visual system is more intuitive to express.6. The development and integration of Three-dimensional visualization system of the State-owned Forest Farm.Develop a set of three-dimensional visualization system of forest management system for the State-owned Forest Farm In the relevant theory and algorithm,which achieve a virtual forest of roaming,the query and statistics of the two-dimensional data,the simulation of afforestation and forest management and other analog functions.
