Tourism was confirmed by World Travel & Tourism Council as the biggest industry in the world on 1992, and China as one of the rapid developing country in tourism. Tourist Destination Image Design, as a new research field in recent year, developed its theoretical system based on Imagology and Corporate Identity System. Tourist Destination Image Design provides significant practical guidance on brand image foundation and landscape design in local tourist destination, as well as theoretical guidance on protection of regionality and humanity image during development. Take Mountain Tai, one of the world famous tourist destinations, as example, tourist resource identity system was firstly used in the image design of tourist destination, which provide a novel view for the image system research, construct the dynamic and static image identity for image design of Mount Tai, and provide a novel aspect for image design research theoretically.The results and methods are as follows:This work firstly analyzed the image identity of tourist destination resources. The image of Mount Tai tourism resource was divided in to identity of natural and humanity resources in this work. In the natural resource identity part, the topographic feature, geosciences tourism resources and weather tourism resource were analyzed, while Taishan Fengshan Culture,Taishan Religious Culture,Mount Tai Tourism and Culture,Taishan Aesthetic Culture were analyzed in humanity resource identity part. Based on these analysis, we made conclusion on the humanity of Mount Tai and set up the positioning of its image brand. Secondly, we analyzed the image identity of conception of Mount Tai, which showed its spirit and culture as well as guiding the landscape architecture and the behavior etiquette. Conception image identity study included analysis of mindest and outlook on value. Image identity of conception of Mount Tai was expressed on four aspects including "nature and Man in One"," To the heart of thinking"," Gentleman Bede"," To Grand View Small", which are Chinese traditional aesthetic thoughts. These thoughts were also embodied in classical architecture and landscape. The outlook of values of Mount Tai conception showed as "The pursuit of a bright"," Peace and prosperity"," Enterprising"," Broad Compatibility"the four aspects. The core of Image identity conception of Mount Tai can be concluded, based on the mindest and the outlook of value, as one famous saying:"Feeling that the world below is suddenly belittled". Besides, Mount Tai spirit should also expressed through the landscape architecture and the behavior etiquette, which, then, form the whole culture patterns of famous mountain. Thirdly, this work analyzed the dynamic image identity including local service system and festival system, as well as dynamic image of the perceptual composition of the triangle. Fourthly, the thesis analyzed the static image system, mainly focused on the analysis of the natural and humanity landscape. At last, the basal and applicable elements of visual image of mountain Tai were designed, together with the analysis of space structure of visual image.In conclusion, Tourist Destination Image theory was developed based on the Imagology and Corporate Identity System, and also included various subjects. Take Mount Tai as example, study of Tourist Destination Image theory provide significant guidance in protecting the regionality and humanity image during development, as well as prolonging the life cycle of tourist destination. Also the study help to complete the Tourist Destination Image theory and Tourist Destination Image system.
