With the gradual deepening of the market economy, the monopoly industry is facing increasingly fierce competition in the market. The system of our country's tobacco industry is monopoly franchise, while during the past few years, our country's tobacco industry accelerated its pace of reform. As the integrating of global economy, the competition of products is almost the competition between brands. So, cigarette industrial enterprises in the new era have to recognize the changing competitive landscape, position accurately, take the initiative to focus on core brands continue to be enhanced in the competition, and sustainable development. After long practice in tobacco system, it has been recognized that a systematic and standardized cigarette brand competitiveness evaluation system is ugently needed. Through the analysis of the competitiveness of brand, enterprise can not only locate its own brand in the market, but also can know its competitors's competitiveness.Firstly, through the study of modern society, market competition, combining the actual situation of the tobacco industry, this paper introduced the importance of brand competitiveness evaluation, explicited theory and practice meaning of cigarette industry competitiveness evaluation model. Secondly, on the basis of previous research studies, this paper definited on the competitiveness, brand and brand competitiveness in a more comprehensive way. Besides, based on certain understanding of tobacco industry, this paper analyzed the shortcomings of current cigarette brand study, and proposed to use Artificial Neural Network method to build a more practical and reasonable evaluation model.According to Li Guangdou's brand competitiveness of eight power model, this paper designed a system of evaluation indicator, which has 15 indicators. Meanwhile, this paper bulit a BP neural network model of cigarette brand competitiveness evaluation, using MATLAB. The system of evaluation indicator this paper designed is more reasonable and suitable for tobacco industry, and the evaluation model can learn from professors exactly and objectively.
